Royal Copley (1939-1960) began their company in Sebring, Ohio. In 1942, it started producing novelties, figurines and home decor accessories. The Company is known for its quality pastel glazes.
The Royal Copley Aquarium Planter Vase has a fan tailed fish swimming in an plain space. The sides and back have mostly dark pink and gray. The oriental style pedestal is black. The glaze is ivory blushed with gray blue and deep pink. Great raised detail with a high gloss finish. This piece is a nice example of Chinoiserie that was so in fashion in the late 1940s and 1950s. You can notice the influence of late Art Deco style and the naivety of the general design. The quality of the glaze finish is ASTONISHING.

The condition is very good with normal crazing and wear. No cracks.
