This Art Nouveau ring probably dates in the early 1800's (Georgian era). In this time frame, sterling silver was used in jewelry due to the people's belief that silver was stronger than gold. Gold, and especially rose gold, was used as accents or appliques. It features a sculptural dimensional rose flower at the top with sparkling Marcasites surrounding it and really make it sparkle in the light. Tested and guaranteed 10K gold but can also be just an overlay or goldplated. I love the combination of the rose gold and the silver. This is hand wrought and one of a kind. Would make a lovely wedding gift!
