TAD, Grosset & Dunlap Publishers New York. Copyright 1891. What i like from this kind of books is the absolutely innocence and candid vision of the world that they transmit. Some aspects of the lecture can be in some way hard to read by the modern spectators, specially the events related to racial condition, female position on society, etc; but thats exactly what make the book so special, they are a true document of a world already gone.... with the wind.
Edward Sylvester Ellis (April 11, 1840 – June 20, 1916) was an American author who was born in Ohio and died at Cliff Island, Maine. Ellis was a teacher, school administrator, journalist, and the author of hundreds of books and magazine articles[3] that he produced by his name and by a number of noms de plume. Notable fiction stories by Ellis include The Steam Man of the Prairies and Seth Jones, or the Captives of the Frontier. Internationally, Edward S. Ellis is probably known best for his Deerfoot novels read widely by young boys until the 1950s.
Tad Or Getting Even with Him. The summer vacation of the Brummagen school was drawing to a close, and the boys and girls accustomed to assemble in the little old-fashioned school house were counting with many a sigh the decreasing days that soon must bring them back to their studies again. The vacation had already lasted three weeks, a longer period than usual, because the teacher that had been employed for several years had resigned and gone away, and there was difficulty in replacing him...
Used book with 100+ years old. The pages have darkened with age, but are intact. There are smudges and spots in parts of the book. There is pencil marks inside the front cover. The book looks good, readable, enjoyable.
